The 5th annual Swissvale Edible Garden Tour is a fun, free community event on Saturday, July 22, 2023. This choose-your-own adventure style tour will include gardens throughout the borough, including the spaces of newer, experienced, and more experimental gardeners. Visitors can expect to see a diverse array of edible garden features such as urban chickens, fruit trees, and pollinators. Tour-goers will stop at our info table at the Swissvale Farmers Market to pick up a guide and are then welcome to visit as many gardens as they like, in whichever order they choose. Registration is not required, but if you register on Eventbrite you'll be entered to win a gardening-themed gift basket!*

Schedule

9:00 am - 2:00 pm - Swissvale Farmers Market (Dickson Preparatory Steam Academy, 7301 Schoyer Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15218) - We’re excited to be partnering even more closely with the Swissvale Farmers Market this year. We’ll have a table set up here with t-shirts for sale, maps, and more.

10:00 am - 2:00 pm - Open Gardens (private gardens all over Swissvale) - See how Swissvalians grow food (and more) and meet the gardeners.

2:30 pm - 5:00 pm - Community Picnic (Swissvale Farmers Market) - Garden-themed gift basket prize drawn at 3:30PM*

After Open Gardens, join us to celebrate this year's event at a community picnic! We'll be there with food, entertainment, and activities for all ages from 2:30PM-5PM.
