Spring Clean-Up Days

Community Clean-Up Day

Every year Swissvale Borough hosts a clean-up day in the spring. This year's Community Clean-Up day will take place on April 22nd. Volunteers are invited to gather at the Public Works Garage on McCague Street at 9:30 a.m. to receive high-visibility shirts, gloves, garbage bags, grabbers and other necessary supplies. Coffee and light refreshments will be available in the morning and lunch will be provided to all volunteers at the end of the event. Volunteers will also have a chance to win door prizes just for helping with the clean-up! 

Hard-to-Dispose of Event

The second clean-up event will be held on Saturday, May 20th. This event will be our annual Electronics, Household Hazardous Waste and hard to dispose of items. Items to be collected will include televisions, computers, computer peripherals, batteries, tires, household hazardous waste (paints, paint thinners, oils, antifreeze, etc.), bulk items and building materials. Multiple dumpsters will be available for the dumping of bulky waste, non-freon containing appliances, house clean-outs and other items. Disposal of these items is free and is available to Swissvale residents only. Please bring a photo ID with your current Swissvale address to dispose of your items at this event. This event will begin at 9:00 a.m. at  Les Getz Memorial Park and continue until 1:00 p.m.  Please see the list below and follow our social media pages for more details on the event.
